4 Press or to highlight Component Settings, then press
ENTER. The Component settings menu opens.
5 Press or to highlight an option, then press or to adjust
the option. You can adjust:
Phase—To minimize horizontal distortion (0~100).
Reset Component Settings—Resets the component
settings to factory default.
6 Press MENU to return to the previous menu, or press EXIT to
close the menu.

Adjusting the sound
To adjust the sound:
1 Press MENU. The on-screen menu opens.
2 Press or to highlight AUDIO, then press . The AUDIO
menu opens.
3 Press or to highlight an option, then press or to adjust
the option. With the Equalizer Off you can select:
Bass—Adjusts the low sounds.
Treble—Adjusts the high sounds.
With the Equalizer On, you can select:
Equalizer Mode—Selects the preset sound mode. Options
include:
Standard (for normal programs)
Theater (for movies)
Music (for music programs)
News (for news programs)
Custom (for a customized sound mode)
Equalizer Setting—Selects the equalizer frequency. You
can select 120 Hz, 500 Hz, 1.5 kHz, 5 kHz, or 10 kHz. Press
or to switch columns, then press or to adjust the
setting. Press MENU to confirm.
You can adjust the following regardless of the Equalizer setting:
Balance—Adjusts the balance between the left and right
audio channels.
Auto Volume—Equalizes the overall volume levels for all
channels.
Digital Audio/SPDIF—(digital channels only) Selects the
digital audio output mode. You can select RAW (outputs
audio in its original format) or PCM (outputs the audio in
PCM mode, if available).
MTS/SAP—Selects the sound mode (analog channels only).
Options include:
Mono—Produces a clearer sound if stereo sound is
difficult to hear.
Stereo—Produces dynamic stereo sound for sporting
events and concerts.
SAP—Selects a second language, weather, or added
commentary, if available.
Audio Language—(digital channels only) Selects an
alternate audio language, if available.
Reset Audio Settings—Resets all audio settings to factory
defaults. When you select this option, a confirmation box
opens. Press or to select Yes
or No, then press ENTER
to confirm.
4 Press MENU to return to the previous menu, or press EXIT to
close the menu.
Playing TV audio only
You can turn off the picture on your TV and listen to only the program
audio.
To play only the TV audio:
1 Press MENU. The on-screen menu opens.
